Dear members,
Since yesterday, we have experienced problems with our 3rd gen chromecast. Due to a necessary reset of our network, we wanted to reconnect the chromecast but it did not want to connect via our new wifi-network and therefore we factory reset the chromecast. Suddenly, the chromecast information displayed on-screen is in Norwegian and the Google home app does not recognize the chromecast anymore. The chromecast is visible under its displayed number in the list of available wifi-devices but also refuses to connect directly. There are no network changes on the router's side and our Google nests connected without issue. Would there be a solution beyond factory reset, or is it time for a new chromecast? A factory reset should let you set up the device like new.
Be sure to remove the Chromecast from the Home app so you can set it up like new. 😊
