Chromecast 4.0 brak dżwieku 5.1. na Netflix, Prime i Disney+

Witam serdecznie,

Wcześniej pisałem o moim problemie (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/Chromecast-4-0-brak-d%C5%BCwieku-5-1-na-Netflix-i-...) lecz doszedłem do błędnych ustaleń. Problem z dżwiękiem rozwiązał się gdy tylko wymieniłem Google TV na FireStick. Dzwięk przestrzenny 5.1. mam teraz na każdej platformie. Oczywiście TV i soundbar pozostały te same.

Pozdrawiam

Artur

Jeśli możesz, to wróćmy do tematu.

Pozdrawiam.

Hi there,

Thanks for the help here, robus_pl.

wyssooki, I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing the same issue with your device. May I know if you have tried the suggested steps provided by Jeran? If yes, how was it?

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi JenniferV

Yes, I checked the Netflix article and tried to check the audio settings in the Prime Video app. Unfortunately, there were no settings  in the Prime Video application, like Jeran wrote. After analyzing other solutions from the Internet, I came to the wrong conclusion that the problem is my hardware configuration - TV and a soundbar.

Regards

Strange situation. I have 5.1 sound on every VOD and KODI on my Chromecast with Google TV.

Anyway I can see that from time to time there are some problems with sound. Disappears for a moment and comes back. Previously I had observed that the order of switching on (TV, Amplituner and Chromeacst) plays the role in case of having sound or not.

Since some weeks I dont have such problems.

I do not want to touch any settings to cause new problem...   😕

This is what I actually have:

I use small box to separate HDMI data into two. One is directed to my TV (which support 4K), second one (audio only) is directed to Ampli (which doesn 't suport 4K). As you can see my Ampli recognizes DD+ HD Audio 5.1.IMG_3428.JPG

Hi wyssooki,

Thanks for getting back to us. Could you please check if your TV or AVR supports  AC3, and AC3/EAC3 surround sound settings? If the TV or AVR do not support one of these settings, Chromecast will not output surround sound.

Note: Supported sites like YouTube and Netflix will perform best using direct playback vs. casting the tab, however:

  • Tab projection is limited to 720p and stereo sound.
  • Direct playback supports 1080p and 5.1 audio.
  • Netflix will emit 5.1 surround sound if Chromecast is connected to an AVR that supports Dolby Digital Plus (DD+).

robus_pl, thanks for sharing your experience here and the setup that you have with your devices.

Regards,

Jennifer

Hello,

TV and Soundbar suports only Dolby Digital (AC-3).  Unfortunately, I do not have such fancy equipment as the robus_pl have 😛

Hi,

I had to use this kind of solution because my Ampli is an old one and doesn't support 4K. I didn't want to get new one (Ampli) so I have found another solution (cheap one).

In case of soundbar you can get simulated surround sound. To have real 5.1 you definitely need to have 5 speakers and sub.

AC-3 supports up to 6 channels. So if your TV supports the same standard on HDMI, then you can have 5.1. Sometimes you have to mark this kind of sound standard in Chromecast manually. Even if it is described as not supported.

You can check if 5.1 sound is supported by your TV when using smart application NETFLIX from your TV. Also you need to have eARC HDMI on your TV to pass original sound to your soundbar.

Ok, anyway, I think our friend wyssooki doesn't need any more advice. He has Firestick. Possibly that one is more user friendly. Maybe Google should learn something from that... 🙂

Hi,

You're right. The audio from Chromecast was great with the HBO MAX and Apple TV apps. NETFLIX audio from my TV too.  I think there are two options. The streaming apps have a bug or there's a problem with the Chromecast itself.  Fire TV with Sony HT-RT3 5.1. soundbar (have 5 speakers and sub) works fine.

Thank you. Your help is no longer needed.

Pozdrawiam.
