Chromecast Casting but No Audio

Video casts through the samsung tv but no audio, it says its connected to your tvs audio and to use the remote for it. But it has no audio

Thank you for posting in this community. I can offer some troubleshooting steps to help you solve this situation.

If you are using a mobile device follow these steps 

  • Make sure the Chromecast receives power and the TV is on the right input 
  • Confirm that the casting device isn’t on mute
  • Confirm that the TV, sound bar, and/or receiver isn't on mute
  • Check if the sound plays on the correct audio channel
  • Check if you are using  Chromecast with an HDMI adapter to Digital Visual Interface (DVI) or Video Graphics Array (VGA)
  • Use a different HDMI device on the same HDMI input and check if audio works
  • Use a different HDMI input
  • Make sure the firmware version of the mobile device is up-to-date
  • Reboot the mobile device
  • Reboot the Chromecast
  • Reboot the TV
  • Isolate if the issue occurs in a specific app
  • Cast the same Chromecast device on a different TV (if possible)
  • Perform factory reset

If you are using a computer please follow these steps 

  • Close all open browser tabs and restart the Chrome browser
  • Make sure the Chrome browser is up-to-date 
  • Reboot the computer
  • Disable Allow all sites to initiate mirroring
  • Check if the issue is browser-specific
