Chromecast Gen3 compatible HDMI (ARC) input of DAC?

Hello, I have a Chromecast Gene 3 and I want to stream music on Chromecast with an external DAC but my TV doesn’t have HDMI RAC output.  Is it possible to directly connect Chromecast’s HDMI to HDMI ARC input port of a DAC like SMSL PS100? Thank you.
