Chromecast HD not starting anymore

My Google Chromecast just worked fine for over a year. Since yesterday, it does not start anymore. 

It's connected via HDMI. When starting, I see the loading page for google TV and then nothing happens anymore.
I restarted our WiFi (working well for all other products) and I have disconnected the device from the power supply for the whole night. The LED light on the back lights up white. Even if I press and hold the button for more than 30 seconds, nothing changes.

• When did the trouble first occur? 

Additional information I can suggest is to perform a factory reset, checking this article: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
