Chromecast + Youtube + FamilyLink = BIG Problem

CHROMECAST 4.0 HD (ga03131-gb)
There is still (in my opinion) a big problem with Chromecast and the child's account when using family Link.
My parent account is protected by a PIN. The child cannot switch profiles on his own. But he has access to YouTube on his account. Of course, when the child is logged in, I have control over what he or she watches, but just restart Chromecast and miracles happen.
The child is still on his/her profile BUT no one is logged in to the YouTube app!!!! Therefore, the child can watch EVERYTHING without any control. I don't even have a video history on my profile!

To regain control I need to:
Log in as a parent on YouTube and then switch to the child (doesn't make sense). This is a BIG PROBLEM!
Children should be in the sandbox at all times and the exit from it should be secured with a PIN code. What is unacceptable is that you can restart chromecast and your child is without any restrictions. Such blockages make no sense at all.

Hi Tadeusz,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that your experience with YouTube in your Chromecast was not what you expected. No worries; here's help! There are some things we can try to solve this:

  • Delete the child's profile.
  • Add the child's profile again to your account.

You can read all the information about how to manage your family on Google in this article. Also remember that we are always looking for ways to improve our products and services. Here's another article about how to send feedback through the Google Home App.

In the meantime, if you have more questions for me, Feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further.

Best regards,

Nery.
