Is it just me or can YouTube music not play nicely with Chromecast audio nowadays. Constantly stopping/disconnecting for no reason at all. No broadband or connectivity issues, and always used to work but in recent months it's pathetic.
I know YouTube music sucks generally but this is now ridiculous. If ever there was a reason to ditch my YouTube music subscription this seems to be it.
Is it just me?

There was a problem with YouTube Music and casting starting on Friday, I believe.
Google has solved the problem.

Thanks for getting back to us and I'm sorry to hear that you are still experiencing an issue with YouTube Music. You could try to uninstall and reinstall the YouTube Music app and reboot your Chromecast Audio, mobile phone and router. If the issue still persists, please try to reset your Chromecast Audio.

Unfortunately I cannot completely uninstall it on my phone (one plus 9) and removing updates etc and trying to start over also doesn't work.
Open to suggestions as to how to completely remove you tube music

Hey there Mattyfish,
YouTube Music may be one of the default apps on the One Plus 9 device, so the device may not let you completely remove it. However, you can disable the app, so it cannot be used in any way. Here is a forum post on the One Plus forum where users are talking about the same situation.
