Chromecast from Youtube app to TV stuck on loading

This issue started yesterday. I cast from the Youtube app on my iphone to my TV. Yesterday, the picture quality lowered substantially and became heavily pixelated, and one second into the video, it gets stuck on the “Loading” screen permanently. It is unusable.

I’ve tried: restarting my phone; updating my phone to the latest iOS; deleting the Youtube app and reinstalling it; restarting my internet connection and router; and rebooting my Chromecast, both by powering off, and via the Google Home app. Nothing changes.  

Please help?

I should add: every other app streams fine. It’s only Youtube I’m having issues with.

Same here! Restarted everything, reinstalled the app…problem persists

Having the exact same problem. My boyfriend is able to stream no problem with his android.

Day 3 of this issue. I’ve found that it does work when I sign out of Youtube… and when I sign in again it locks up again. I don’t want to watch YouTube permanently signed out, though.  There must be some bug?

I’ve also contacted YouTube twice. Nothing.

Fyi, finally got on to Google support. We tried a few things, and a factory reset of the Chromecast finally worked for me. Good luck.

it doesnt help me. rebooted and factory reset did nothing. other apps work fine casting to chromecast ultra. using an updated iphone, i see another user said their BF used an android just fine

Thanks for sharing here. I’m sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Some users managed to correct it by logging in to different accounts. If all other apps are working fine, then this may be isolated to YouTube. I suggest you give our friends at the YouTube Help Community a shout. Other users may have answers for this already. Let us know if you still have questions about your Chromecast device.

I did a factory reset for my Chromecast and the problem persists, I suspect there is a bug in the Android YouTube App, as any other app is streaming with no problem from my phone into Chromecast

Your suspicion is wrong. The problem is also with iOS as stated in earlier posts. Factory reset did not solve the issue in my case. Logging in with another google account (that has the same e-mail address as my apple ID did… however, as a result all my history and YT channel subscriptions are lost…

Hi from Italy!

Today my father reporting the same issue on his chromecast and Huawei phone: after 5-7 seconds of playback, the casted video got stuck with "loading" on the TV with Chromecast. Same video plays well locally on the phone. Same issue on his WiFi and my Wifi, of course 2 different TVs and 2 different Chromecast. My mother's and my lhone are working well. Strange issue is that if I log out from YT app from his account and log in with another one, issue is gone.

Things I tried so far:

- reboot phone and Chromecast

- deleted all the datas of YT app

- deactivated and reactivated the YT app

- I haven't tried a reset of the Chromecast itself BUT I am going to try it tomorrow or the day after (anyway, as said, different phones OR same phone with different account are working)

Try this:

change account , re-enter in youtube app with verificated +18 account....work for me.
I suspect it's a bug related to the account and the advertising because if you do it then the video starts again from a commercial and no longer stops.

Same here. Issue started recently on multiple devices: Android phones (one brand new I just got yesterday), 2023 iPad, Amazon Kindle HD, all exhibit same issue, a second or two into video, starts pixelated, goes into indefinite loading. This is on multiple Chromecast versions too, all factory rebooted and all with latest updates. Tried switching accounts, switching audio to only stereo on Chromecast, clearing caches, etc. When they say factory reset the Chromecast, is that what we are supposed to do for each video? Yes, sarcasm. Please provide fix.
