My chromecast gen2 suddenly stopped working and I couldn’t connect to it and restored to factory settings and couldn’t establish network. It states can’t connect. Any solution? @links to members

I read on a Google page, a few days ago, that they were aware of issues with the Chromecast gen 2. They advised waiting and not resetting

If you set the date on your phone to March 8th and restart the setup process after the factory reset, the Chromecast updates and everything works correctly. Then it goes back to the current time.

I found if the time on the chromecast was not the same as my router it would link to the local LAN but not to the internet. Set to use router time and it worked ok.
