Hey everyone. I am constantly having issues with my chromecast. It is saying it is connected to my wifi with no connection to internet.  I am having to forget the network and reconnect constantly.  My phone and other devices seem to all be working well. I have very limited tech experience so I will do my best to follow with the helpful suggestions im hoping to get.

Hi Kmcocean,

Thank you for posting in the community! I understand that you constantly receive a message of your Chromecast not being connected to the internet. I appreciate you sharing the temporary fix that you found and that the internet works well with other devices. I’ll be happy to assist you with a solution.

To gather information about the inconvenience, I need you to please provide some more details:

  • Confirm your Chromecast model (see Chromecast and Google TV Streamer specifications, if necessary), and provide the installation date.
  • When did the issue start?
  • Is your router dual-band?
  • How far is the Chromecast from the router?
  • Are there obstructions like walls, furniture, or other devices causing interference?
  • Could you share the word-for-word message you received?

In the meantime, consider trying the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Restart your Router and the Chromecast.
  2. Check the Wi-Fi signal strength.
  3. Update the Chromecast and the router firmware.
  4. Reduce the interference.
  5. Use an Ethernet adapter.

I look forward to your answer and to hearing the results. For any additional assistance or clarification, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Humberto
