Chromecast is not detected after set up

Hi there!

A bit of history before explaining my issue: I have had this chromecast device for several years, at least since 2016. I had never had any trouble with it, and we have moved, changed internet providers and have different android devices connected to it, and never an issue. Suddenly, some weeks ago, my wife mobile lost its connection to the device, some weeks later, mine stopped being able to detect the chromecast. Afterwards, I have tried resetting and reconnecting several times with the same result: nothing. The steps I have followed are the following:

  1. Reset chromecast.
  2. Open Home.
  3. Detect and set chromecast.
  4. Chromecast appears connected to my internet service.
  5. Finish set up.
  6. Chromecast is not detected by any Android device at home.
  7. Frustration.

My son tablet appears to connect to it without any problem: the chromecast appears connected to the local network but the other devices cannot see it within the "Home". Help please!

Addendum: after completing the set up I get the following message:

 

"All set! Your Chromecast has been set but can't be found. Make sure that your phone and your Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi network."

They are in the same network!

Hi Kado_1976,

 

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the delay. This message has something to do with your Wi-Fi settings. Check if AP isolation is enabled. If so, you can disable it.
