Chromecast no longer connects to network

I have two chromecast devices that have disconnected from my wifi today and will not reconnect. I have done hard resets on both cc units, as well as my wifi. My phone and iPad are up to date on software, and my local network access settings are ON for Google home. I have tried everything that the troubleshoot messages have provided.
Google home can detect my chromecast, it will begin to connect to my network, it will say “connected!” For a split second before telling me something went wrong and that I need to turn on local network access, which is already on. i have seen other threads with this exact issue but the Google official just regurgitates all the information I’ve already tried. I want to know if anyone has found an alternate solution, please help

Have you had any luck sorting this out?  I am having same issue.  Chrome cast is most definitely connected to same network as phone.  Access to LAN is on.  But when I try to cast it says device not found.  Have re-set.  Re-installed.  Tried a different chrome cast device.  Nothing works.  Been two weeks and now so tired of watching everything on phone screen that am weighing up non Google options.

Hey there everyone,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you all for being patient! If you're still experiencing this issue, I'd be happy to help you figure this out. Now, xhromecast devices cannot be set up properly using routers or wireless networks that have AP isolation enabled (also known as Client Isolation or Guest Mode) or that use a captive portal (typical of hotel rooms, school networks, corporate environments). These features must be disabled in order to set up a Chromecast device properly. Go ahead and also check these other settings:

Router settings:

  • Multicast, Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), and Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) must be enabled.
  • If you're running Domain Name System (DNS) software, enable the following public Google DNS IP addresses: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Device settings:

  • Disable or disconnect any Virtual Private Network (VPN) software.

I look forward to your responses, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran
