Chromecast: not compatible with this device

I am unable to install some apps on my chromecast (Stan, 9now, ABCiview, and others). I am in Australia.
I get the message that "this version is not compatible with this device".

Stan and 9now were working OK until about 4 weeks ago.

Things I've tried:

Restarted TV and router, Factory reset my Chromecast and reinstalled with the Nest app on my phone (iOS).
My google account is using a gmail account.
I have deleted my home address from my google account as I was unable to save it with "Australia" as the last line.
I have added an other account withe the "Australia" descriptor as the last line.
Please help if you can...

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the delay in response. It seems that you’ve taken the necessary troubleshooting steps. But since this has been posted quite sometime and a recent update has been released, kindly check now for an available update. If possible, I suggest you do a full clean-up by performing a factory reset one more time and setting it up from scratch to remove any corrupted files or data.
