Hey Cela! Sometimes it can be difficult trying to pair the controller after removing a previous pairing or if it's new. Please follow these steps, but first, restart your Chromecast and unplug it from the power source for a few minutes.

If your Chromecast Voice Remote isn't working, try this:

  1. Remove both batteries from the remote.
  2. While watching the LED on the front of the remote (it's below the buttons and only visible when lit), reinsert the batteries. If the LED doesn't flash twice, continue to the next step.
  3. Within two seconds, and while still watching the LED, remove and reinsert the batteries again. If the LED still doesn't flash twice, repeat this step.
  4. While checking for the LED to flash twice, replace both batteries with the original batteries that came with the remote. If those aren't available, use two fresh 1.5-volt AAA batteries.
  5. Remove both batteries and wait for five minutes. Then, while watching for the LED to flash twice, reinsert the batteries.
  6. If the LED still doesn't blink, follow the troubleshooting steps under…

If that doesn't work, the last step would be a factory reset of the controller. Then, restart your Chromecast and follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the Mute and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously.
  2. While both buttons are pressed, the remote LED will blink white.
  3. A countdown sound will play after holding the buttons for 10–12 seconds.
  4. Keep holding the buttons until the LED turns solid white.

It usually takes no more than 12 seconds to initiate a factory reset.

I hope it helps you.

Hey 👋, I hope this works for someone but unfortunately not for my case I tried everything exactly as instructed. I put brand new batteries again just incase. And the white light never changes it just stays a solid white as soon as batteries are in. No matter if I'm pressing the rest buttons nothing like it is frozen

The exact same thing is happening with me. Can you respond to this if you find a solution?

If nothing else works, it would be best to contact Google directly to request a replacement. They have an option to replace just the voice remote for free. You can buy it separately (but you have to buy the one that's right for your model, as there are two versions: Voice Remote for Chromecast with Google TV and Google TV Streamer Voice Remote).

But keep in mind that it seems it has to be under warranty to avoid paying anything.

I hope this helps.
