Chromecast solid white light and no picture

Hi, 

I have a 2nd Gen Chromecast. I moved my TV to a different area of the lounge, once I plugged it back in the chromecast comes on with a solid white light but no picture. I tried resetting it as discribed on the manual and web page but doesn't reset. Any help?

Thanks for reaching out. Let’s sort this out.

 

To confirm, can you only see a black screen when you plug in the Chromecast to your TV?  If yes, please try the steps listed below:

 

  1. Shut down the TV completely (power off and disconnect the power cord from the power outlet).
  2. Disconnect the Chromecast from the HDMI port, and if the Chromecast is plugged into the power outlet, disconnect it.
  3. Power on the TV and reconnect the power source to the Chromecast device but do not put the Chromecast into the TV HDMI port.
  4. Wait 30 seconds.
  5. Plug the Chromecast device into an HDMI port on the TV.
  6. Change the TV to the same HDMI input as the Chromecast.
  7. Plug the Chromecast to a different HDMI port on the TV
  8. Test the Chromecast on another TV screen.

I have done the exact steps as you have explained. Unfortunately still the same issue. 

 

It's seems to me as if the unit has "bricked" itself for some reason? I've tried USB and main outlet power with the same results.

 

The app doesn't see the chromecast so I can't reset it from the app. Manually resetting from the chromecast doesn't work either. It stays on a permanent white light.
