Chromecast w/ Google TV and Pixel Bud Pro

So my Chromecast works fine, but when I try to use my Pixel Bud Pros the video instantly starts to buffer endlessly until I disconnect the headphones, then the video starts playing again immediately.

I've tried turning off and on, unplugging, re-pairing the headphones and clearing the cache on the apps.

Hey there AngryEldritch,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! I'd be happy to help you figure this out, as this issue would be pretty tricky to troubleshoot on your own. Go ahead and give these steps a try:

  1. Check your Wi-Fi connection. Make sure that your Chromecast is connected to a strong Wi-Fi signal.
  2. Try a different Wi-Fi network. If you have multiple Wi-Fi network bands, try connecting your Chromecast to a different one.
  3. Update your Chromecast's firmware.
  4. Update your Pixel Bud Pros' firmware.
  5. Restart your Chromecast and Pixel Bud Pros.  Restarting both devices can often fix any temporary glitches that might be causing the problem.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

None of these worked, my friend.

Hey there AngryEldritch,

That's no good to hear. In that case, it may be best to speak with Chromecast Support to dig a bit deeper. Would you be able to fill out this form to have them reach out to you via email? Just let me know when you have done so.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Jeran

Hey AngryEldritch,

Did you have a chance to fill out that form that I provided?

Thank you,
Jeran

Yes I filled out one of those forms before posting on this forum. Never got a response.

Hello AngryEldritch,

Really? If you don't mind, did you happen to get a case number? If so, I can look into the case and try to bump it to get you the help you need. Alternatively, here is how you can reach out to support manually.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Jeran

  • No I didn't get a case number, to my knowledge. I'll try this alternative way.

Hey AngryEldritch,

No problem at all! Let me know if you have any issues getting a hold of them, and I'll check up in a few days if I don't hear back.

Best regards,
Jeran

Still haven't heard anything

Hello AngryEldritch,

That's pretty strange... If you would prefer, you could get a hold of them via online chats, and that usually only takes a couple of minutes. You should have the option to speak with them as soon as you get past the initial question and suggestion articles.

Best regards,

Jeran
