Chromecast no longer fast forwards or rewinds TV correctly. Old behavior was Google speakers/Assistant would FF/rewind TV x minutes/seconds. New behavior is FF/rewind command causes TV to restart from the beginning of the broadcast. Factory resetting Chromecast doesn't resolve this issue.

Hi chml17l,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A few questions: what Chromecast device do you have connected to your TV? Is this happening while casting (via voice command using your Google Nest Mini or cast-enabled app)? If you're using Chromecast with Google TV, is it happening while playing the installed apps (not casting)?
I’ve tried using my Chromecast with Google TV. I’ve played installed apps (Netflix, YouTube, etc.), and while playing, I gave the voice commands “Rewind by 20 minutes”, “Fast-forward by 10 minutes”, “Rewind by 50 seconds" and “Fast-forward by 20 seconds,” and it all worked. That’s using the Google Assistant on my Chromecast Voice remote. Similar voice commands: “Hey Google! Rewind by 10 minutes on Kimy’s TV” and “Hey Google! Fast-forward by 10 minutes on Kimy’s TV” worked using my Google Nest Hub.
Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:
Thanks,
Kimy

Hello chml17l,
Thanks for the reply. The Chromecast with Google TV should at least respond properly when used with Google Assistant from its remote. Let’s try this approach: try to do the voice command using the Chromecast Voice Remote instead of the Google Nest Mini and Google Nest Hub Max. If it still fails, then something’s up with the actual Chromecast device's Google Assistant module. But if it worked with its own remote, then there’s a communication failure via WLAN coming from the input devices (the mini and the hub max) as it captures the voice command.
Let us know how it goes. We look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Kimy

The behavior is the same from the chromecast's voice remote. It still restarts whatever application I'm using from the beginning. I have confirmed this behavior using the Youtube TV app and Youtube app.
