Chromecast with Google TV keeps crashing

No matter what application I use, the app crashes and in back to the home screen. Intermittent.

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand that your apps are crashing after opening and then returning to the home screen on your Chromecast with Google TV. No worries, let's work together to figure out the issue you're experiencing. To help with that, I have a few questions for you:

  • Are you getting any error messages after an app crashes on your Chromecast?
  • When your Chromecast crashes, what's the status light? For reference, please check out the Chromecast and Google TV Streamer LED light article.
  • Does the crashing issue also happen when casting?

Also, let's try the following steps:

  • Delete the apps on your Chromecast and then reinstall them.
  • Power cycle your Chromecast by unplugging it from the power source, waiting at least 10 seconds, and then plugging it back in.

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.
