Chromecast with google tv HD remote getting too hot.

Hi, 

My current generation chromecast with Google tv’s Remote control has stopped working, getting hot quickly and flattening any batteries ‘fed’ to it! There is obviously some sort of short-circuit going on, and I assume that is a terminal event!

 Has the same thing been experienced by the community/is this a known problem?
