Control speakers with google tv streamer remote

Hi. I can't get the google tv streamer remote to work on my speakers. The speakers are connected to the tv with an optical cable. I have tried to add the speakers in the remote settings but the speaker brand does not appear on any of the list over brands that are supported. Is there a way to learn the inputs from the speaker remote to the google tv steamer remote?

Does your speaker brand explicitly state that it works with Google TV or Chromecast with Google TV? If so, please refer to the article about how to "Set up Chromecast with Google TV and Voice Remote" for detailed instructions.
