Disney+ Not Working On Google TV

I can’t seem to get Disney+ to work. Every time it comes up with an error saying “Something went wrong. Please try again. If the problem persists, visit the Disney+ Help Center (Error Code 83)”. I have tried literally everything possible I have seen online including deleting and reinstalling, updating, restarting TV, restarting wifi, restarting phone, casting instead of using the app, and everything just won’t fix it. Could someone please help?

I see a few other posts with users having that same error. You've tried the things I would've already. Can you check this older thread and notes about disabling IPv6?  This link also from Disney which is pretty generic.

If you are still having trouble please let us know the region you are located.

I am still having issues. I’m located in Georgia.

No problem, we can try a couple of things. First, do you know how fast your internet speed is? The article that Disney+ suggests there could be an issue with slow speed or internet issues. Regardless, I would recommend that you clear out the Disney+ cached app data to clear out any old data:

From the Google TV home screen, at the top right, scroll to your Profile picture or initial.

  1. Select Settings and then Apps.
  2. Choose the app you have trouble with.
  3. Select Clear cache and then Ok.

Tip: If you can’t find the app you have trouble with, select See all apps.

Hello,

I am having the same problem. I followed the directions above and uninstalled and reinstalled the app a few times. The same error is happening to me: Error Code 83

In this scenario, with the Error Code 83 being a Disney+ error, you may need to reach out to Disney+ Support to see if they are aware of any issues or outages. Currently, on Google's side of things, things seem to be working properly.

Hello Jeran,

My disney plus on google TV is still getting an error code 83. I have tried reaching out to disney+ support and they didn't help as well. I have also tried everything everyone suggested, still no luck.

I'm really sorry to hear that Disney+ is still giving you issues! Just to confirm, is your Chromecast with Google TV's firmware up to date? If so, what version of the firmware are you using? Also, if you haven't already tried, delete the Disney+ app and reinstall it.
