Disney Plus app wont play 4k or HDR on Google TV Streamer

As per the title. I'm a premium subscriber and while my Samsung QN90B outputs Disney+ at 4k, the TV streamer does not. Other apps are fine in 4k /HDR. Disney+ is fine on other devices.

Disney support told me that the Streamer isn't officially supported but it's been working on there for months, so I don't understand. I'm not sure when it started happening as I've not used Disney on it for a while, I've had the streamer about four months or so.

All settings are correct, frame rate matching, HDR matching, and I've fiddled with all the settings anyway.

I've rebooted, reinstalled, cleared cache etc.

Anyone else having this problem, or found any solutions? Going by replies on Reddit, I'm not the only one!

Same here, was fine last week when I was going on a marvel binge. Gone on today to watch F4 and all I can get is HD. Yet everything available on the Samsung TV app

It's a pain. Even more so now Disney are saying its because they dont support the Streamer when it worked fine a week ago!

I'm having the same issue and just posted on AVS forum maybe someone has a work around.

Only thing that i can think of is to go to a APK website and download last weeks version,  see if that works

According to Reddit, Disney are aware and the problem extends beyond Google devices. Hopefully a result will come soon...

Annoying that they still don't implement a match frame rate option in the app. Annoying to keep changing the frame rate in device settings to make content play relatively smooth

**UPDATE**

Downloading an older version didn't work, went back to September. But still only HD available
