"hey google play BLANK from Disney plus"
"Ok blank from disney plus. Playing on CHROMECAST DEVICE" (using a google home mini.. voice commands this is the 'platform" - not android - this was not an option in this menu)
"Sorry something went wrong. When youi ready give it another try"
This has been a problem since the start of September 2023.
It has not worked for months and is driving me and the kids nuts.
Does this problem occur for everyone using Disney plus?
Why isn't it working? Is there anything I can do? Will google ever fix this?

What you liked is not the same issue.. but help with the help does help. I.E. it is very hard to know the source of the issue and therefore difficult to know where to go for help.
By the way I did resolve my issue with no outside help.
Solution: I disconnected and then reconnected disney plus to the Google Home app.
My issue is and was that I can't find help for this sort of thing.. even instructions or troubleshooting because I don't know "what's broken": is it google home, chromecast, assistant, my assistant hardware, my chrome hardware...

Hi JessKo,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. If this is more of a Google Assistant function, this could be related to an existing bug in Google Assistant. Devices such as Chromecast with Google TV, Nest speakers and displays, etc. that have Google Assistant built-in were affected. It was recognized in the Google Assistant Help Community and has been trending on this thread: Google home mini no longer capable of changing TV channels, used to work just fine.
Different teams (Chromecast, Nest speakers and displays, etc.) have already reached out to the Google Assistant team, and a bug ticket has already been created. They are currently investigating this. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but we’ll wait for their update on this and hopefully get it resolved as soon as possible.
Outside of the Google Assistant issue, your devices should be fine with their functions. Kindly stay tuned for updates related to the bug.
Thanks,
Kimy

Hello JessKo,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop. I was wondering if it’s a Google Assistant function since there’s a bug that is under investigation at the moment. After all, we have a different team who can answer it, and we’re here for your Chromecast’s concerns. But then, I’m glad that you finally sorted this out. Feel free to create a new thread if you have questions or concerns in the future.
Thanks,
Kimy
