Factory Reset

I have a Chromecast that was associated to another home on our Google Home app. We sold the house it was located in so I deleted the home location including all the devices etc. I’m now trying to install the Chromecast on my home location. Installation keeps failing, I think because Google Home still recognizes it even though it doesn’t show. It says it needs to be factory reset. How do I do that when it doesn’t show in the Google Home app since the home location it was in is now gone ?

Quick fix here is to use the reset button that's physically on the device. It's always on the edge of the Chromecast itself, near to the power input. While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV, hold down the button on the side of the Chromecast. The LED should begin to blink orange. When the LED light turns solid white, release the button and the Chromecast should then restart.
