I have a 3 year old that loves finding my youtube account and going into it to watch things we would rather not have him watch.
So I discovered the great feature to create for him a child profile. and also added a pin lock for him to not leave his profile. This works great, until...
If the TV is turned off, the profile selection screen comes up. He then goes into my profile, and he's back in youtube instead of youtube kids
Is there some way I can prevent this? I have no problem with putting a pin code on my profile to stop people from entering it
Without this, the child profile is basically useless, since he can get into mine that easily

No unfortunately, that's the way it works today unfortunately. I’d encourage you to also send this feedback directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.

Just to let you know, that without this feature, having a child profile with a pin code to switch to the adult profile is totally useless, since it can be defeated by turning off and turning on the television by the chromecast on/off button. My 3 year old figured that one out in 10 minutes

Feedback send to google. My only choice was to remove the service that I was trying to keep him out from from the chromecast itself, and reinstall it as I need it. Not ideal

Hi ScottKBerger,
Thanks for your feedback. Normally, this is how it’s done. The parent will create a profile for the child and log it into the TV in the child's room. The child can try to turn it off and on, but will see his profile as the only choice. However, the parent has access to both profiles on his own TV from the master bedroom, so he can view the child's activity. This may not be applicable on shared TV. I hope this clarifies the kids' profile creation.
Rest assured that we'll take note of it — we'll ensure that we'll learn from your experience as we continually improve our products and services.
Regards,
Kimy
