Fragmented screen

From time to time (although more often than not) I will turn on my TV to use my chrome cast to cast videos from my phone to my TV and the entire bottom half of the screen will be fragmented, like half the screen has glitched and created a repeating image of what is supposed to be displayed.

I can usually remedy this by getting up, unplugging the HDMI from the back of the TV and plugging it back in again but Ive been doing this for so long now, I'm wondering if there is a more permanent fix I could do or if I just need to get a replacement chrome cast?

Hi Lainielullabell,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you are seeing a fragmented screen and that you can fix it by removing and reconnecting the HDMI cable. I'm happy to assist you.

To help me diagnose the issue, I have a few questions:

  • When did this issue begin?
  • Have you tried using your Google Chromecast on another TV? If so, did the problem persist?
  • Have you tried using a different HDMI cable to see if the inconvenience is with the current cable?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Manuel
