Future of Cast Moderator

With the discontinuation of the Chromecast line and the fact that Cast moderator is not available for the Google TV Streamer, what is the future of this feature?  We are currently using this in a school environment and need to know if this is going away.

I got a quick reply from the Google team.  The good news is since the Chromecast devices will still be supported you should expect no change in the Cast Moderator function. There will be continued software and security updates.

That is good to hear.  Is there going to be a new piece of hardware that will work with it? Eventually the Chromecast will no longer be available for purchase.  We are still rolling out Chromecasts to schools and will eventually need replacement devices.

No info on roadmap but Google seems very committed to the in classroom streaming. I just don't have any insider knowledge.
