Hello Dear Official; While using your gfn service while playing games with Google Chromecast 4K Android TV Box, the game image freezes after 2-3 minutes. However, I can hear the sounds in the background and hear the audio feedback of the commands I give, but I cannot get a visual response. This error does not occur when playing on PC. This problem did not exist until one (1) week ago. Although I tried it with the same device in two different locations with internet speeds of 100 and 1000, I learned that the problem is not the internet speed. Below I list the actions that I tried myself but could not reach a conclusion;
Uninstall the application and download it back.
Testing at 100 and 1000 megabit internet speeds.
Clearing application cookies and cache.
Settings; "server location": "automatic", trying "TR Central 1" and "TR West 1" servers.
Settings: "streaming quality": "balanced" option.
Settings ; "streaming quality": Settings I tried in the "custom" tab ↓
Settings ; "streaming quality": Changing the "max. bitrate".
Settings ; "streaming quality": Changing "Resolution Format" and "Frame Rate" values
Settings ; "streaming quality" : "Adjust for poor network connection conditions." turn on and off
I request support and hope that the problem will be resolved as soon as possible.
Enjoy your work.

Hi there!
Thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry for the inconveniences that you’ve been experiencing with your Chromecast with Google TV 4K. I understand that when you are using the gaming service named GeForce Now in your Chromecast, the video freezes even though you can still hear the sound. No worries, help is here.
In order to provide you with the correct information, I need some extra information. Here are some questions for you:
In the meantime, let’s check if your device is up to date following the next steps:

I did everything you said, but my problem was not solved, in the past. I can play for 10-15 minutes, I can only play for 1 minute on my device that I converted to factory settings.

Oh...the problem is back. The resetting trick did not work for long. I experimented a little. Switching the TV off and on again brings me the "play now" screen of GFN. Clicking on that brings me right back to my game session and it works again for a while. But the time until the next freeze is getting smaller every time I do that trick. What works for me is to unplug the chromecast and plug it back in after a few hours on the next gaming session. Then I get maybe a hour or so of uninterrupted game time. Maybe there is a heat problem? The chromecast is getting very warm. Maybe is has something to do with the last update of Geforce Now? It worked before for two years flawless without ever resetting or unplugging the chromecast.

OK, I did the factory reset at it seems that this had resolved the issue. I just played for half an hour an no more freezes happend. Hopefully it stays this way. Thanks anyway.

I have the same issue. I’ve already tried everything mentioned earlier, and GeForce Now still freezes. Any advice?

Also having the same issue

The same problem for me. For several years everything worked as it should.

Same here. Stucked with my games. I've never ever had that

Hey guys, this seems to be more of a hardware issue than a software one, in my opinion. Check if your Chromecasts are overheating. If they are, improve ventilation for the device. It could be hidden deep behind the TV, which restricts airflow. If that doesn’t help, try switching the HDMI port if you have options, and consider using a different power adapter. This should help.

There is a workaround available that I've had success with. Basically reduce the bitrate to 15 Mbps. If you have success you can try bumping it up. Not a permanent solution, but its something. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/gfn-tech-support/46/550821/games-frezzes-on-ccwgtv/34783...

Year I really think that this is a heat problem. I observed that the time between freezes becomes smaller and smaller as the cc gets hotter and hotter. So tried somthing else: I disconnected the cc letting it cool down and plug it back in only when I use it. No more freezes after that.

It's definitely not a problem with the temperature of the device. I've been using Chromcast 4.0 for TV gaming since 2021 and until recently everything worked great. I've spent hundreds of hours gaming through GeforceNow over this time with no issues. Therefore, it must be a fault after updating Chromcast or after updating the GFN application. Moreover, the problem is global and it is unlikely that everyone's Chromacast will suddenly start overheating.

Yes same here. Worked for 2 years without problems and since last week. I still think that is a overheating problem, but not caused by the chromecast itself bu because of the newest update of GFN. I think its GFN because the problems started before I updated the chromecast but exactly after the GFN update that shows the wireframe controller when starting a Steam game. If they hadn't changed the startupgraphics i would never had noticed that there was an update. But in this case I can pin down the exact moment when this mess started.
