Glitch. Casting without wifi

I couldn't stop casting what I was watching from my Paramount App for some reason. I switched off of Chromecast on my TV, and force stopped Paramount and went to bed. The next morning I see that Paramount has been casting all night long. I can't find it anywhere on my phone. When I open Paramount back up it doesn't show its casting. I turn the Wi-Fi off on my phone. It doesn't stop casting. I finally unplugged the Chromecast device. Paramount says I watched 10 episodes of Mayor of Kingstown. How could this happen? And why didn't it stop casting after disconnected the Wi-Fi connection on my phone?
