Google Chromecast not reconised by Samsung TV Model QA55QN8585CAKXXT

Hi team.  I have an issue with a Google Chromecast with Google TV.  The TV simply doesn't recognise the device.  It defaults eventually to a PC on manual setting and displays the 'G' start up logo, but this is as far as it goes.  I live in Hong Kong, Google is available here but I am wondering if its a GEO setting with the TV.  Has anyone had similar issues?

I understand it's frustrating when you try to use your Chromecast, but you can see just a black screen with a "G" logo. No worries; I'm here to help! 

 

First, some helpful information: What type of Chromecast do you have (e.g., Chromecast with Google TV, Chromecast Ultra)? What's the color of the LED light in the Chromecast?

 

Also, here are some steps we can try to solve this:

 

  1. Power off the TV > unplug the TV, and Chromecast from their:
    1. Power source
    2. HDMI connection
  2. Wait one minute > plug the TV and Chromecast into their power source > wait 30 seconds.
  3. Power on the TV >  connect the Chromecast device to the TV’s HDMI port.
  4. Tune the TV to the same HDMI input where the Chromecast is plugged in.
