Hello Experts,
I recently purchased a new Samsung smart TV and I am using this Google Chromecast with Google TV. The main reason I want to use this device is for Ambient mode and I usually play my Google Albums. But in the ambient mode the photos are displayed for only 10 mins and google TV turns off.

Hi mmnath,
i read you thead and analyzsis you problem, you've already tried a lot of the common troubleshooting steps, and I can understand how frustrating this must be. The issue you're describing with the Chromecast turning off after 10 minutes during Ambient Mode seems to be more common than we would like. It's great that you're diving into the settings already, but let me offer a couple of other suggestions to help resolve this.
Update Chromecast and TV Firmware: Sometimes, the issue might not just be with Chromecast itself but could also be related to your TV's firmware. Ensure both your Samsung TV and Chromecast have the latest software updates installed. Newer versions often come with bug fixes that might address issues like the one you're experiencing.
Ambient Mode Settings: In addition to the "Stay Awake" option in Developer Mode, try adjusting the settings within the Google Home app for Ambient Mode specifically. There may be an option to control how long the screen stays active. Even though you mentioned you didn’t see anything related, it’s worth double-checking, as there might be updates in the Google Home app’s interface after some of the recent updates.
Power Supply: One thing that is often overlooked is the power supply for Chromecast. If the power cable or adapter isn’t providing consistent power, it might be causing the Chromecast to reboot or turn off. Try switching to a different power outlet or USB port (if powered through TV) to see if the issue persists.
HDMI-CEC Settings: Double-check your HDMI-CEC settings on your Samsung TV. Sometimes, this feature can cause unexpected behavior with connected devices. Try disabling HDMI-CEC (or Anynet+ on Samsung TVs) to see if that resolves the issue.
Try Another TV or HDMI Port: Just to rule out the TV as the problem, try using the Chromecast on another TV or a different HDMI port to see if the issue persists. This can help isolate whether it's the Chromecast or the TV causing the issue.
If you’ve already done all of these and the issue continues, you might want to contact Google support for further troubleshooting, as this might be a deeper software issue that could require a firmware update or patch.

Thank you @mical , I had tried all the options you have called out here except #4 (HDMI-CEC) setting.
Although it is not a preferred option as I use Soundbar along with the TV, I still went and tried disabling HDMI-CEC. Unfortunately, this also didn't make any difference. No matter what, after 10 mins or so, chromecast gives up and I am not sure why.
Sure, let me contact the support team and see what they have to say.
Thank you!
