So I have a Google Streamer with 32gb of inbuilt storage. I can connect a USB Hub to the streamer but what do I do with it all? How do I use the inbuilt 32gb and what do I use the USB Hub for? I thought maybe I could stream photos but that doesn't seem to work. Unless I am missing something, it all seems pointless.

Hi there!
Thanks for posting in the community! I can understand that it can be confusing when you have 32GB of storage in your Chromecast and don't know what to do with that storage. Let me quickly explain: the 32GB of storage will allow you to download more apps, and you can also see your pictures, but it is important to have those pictures in a Google Photo account.
For more information, you can take a look at the following links: Meet the new Google TV Streamer (4K), Google TV Streamer (4K).
Feel free to reply if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Derick

It seems that I can only show my photos as a screen saver. I can't take (say) a USB Flash drive with my holiday photos and stream them to my TV using the streamer. I don't understand why I connected a USB Hub to the streamer - it seems totally useless. I am yet to understand what this thing does that my smart TV and a chromecast didn't do. Thanks for your help though.

Hey there!
Thank you for your reply. The main purpose of the Chromecast is to stream web information. Not all USB devices are compatible or formatted in a way that the Chromecast can read, even though some models contain a USB port. The file format, the device's partition, or even incompatibilities between the Chromecast and the USB device could be the cause that the chromecast doesn’t recognise the storage devices and files.
Don't hesitate to keep posting if you need more help,

Derick.

Thanks for all that. It just seems that I have spent a lot of money for no real benefit. I still have no idea how I could use the 32 gb of storage or the additional storage that I have attached. Seems to me like a solution looking for a problem.
