Google TV remote to control Android TV doesn't work

Hi, I have Google Tv v 4.39.329.515737620.3-release installed in my Samsung A32 phone. I try to use it with my Android TV box (Tivo Stream 4k), mostly use that virtual remote that comes with Google TV. Bot now (after OTA upgrade to Android 13, I think) I can't do it any more. TV remote moved to the Quick Settings, but when I click on it, it goes to Google TV app and shows "No media " screen, instead of virtual mouse or keyboard, as before (see pic). Google TV app is connected to the TV box. Bluetooth is ON on both devices, and they are paired, and wifi network is the same for phone and TV box.

Please help.

Hey there Leontol,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that virtual remote issue? If not, I'd be happy to help you out. First thing I would recommend is making sure your Tivo Stream 4K box, Google Home app, and Google TV app are all up-to-date on their software and firmware. Then, go ahead and clear out the cached app data on both the Google Home app and Google TV as well. Finally, if the problem persists, go ahead and un-pair and re-pair your phone from the TV.

Yes, my Tivo Stream 4K box was auto updated recently, and on the phone my Google Home app, and Google TV app are all up-to-date (automatically). I cleared the cache for Google Home app and Google TV app on my phone. Also both Tivo Stream 4k and my phone are on the same wifi network, and Bluetooth is on. I re-paired phone and Tivo box just in case. But it doesn't help: when I click on the virtual remote icon in Quick settings in my phone, it says Connected and shows my "tivo stream 4k" under that. Then it shows No media screen 😞 No virtual keyboard or anything, as it was showing before.

No problem at all! Hmm, with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried, you may want to speak with Chromecast Support to dig a little deeper. If you don't mind, would you fill out this form to have Chromecast Support reach out to you via email? Just let me know when you do so.

no, so far my only problem is that Virtual Remote on my phone doesn't work any more with my Tivo Stream 4k Android TV box:)
