Opening a thread here on the Nest forums due to the thread we had going on the Google TV forums since last November was recently locked without a real resolution.
Many users have been facing this issue since November last year with no traction and since we actually had some luck on these forums recently with troubleshooting and fixing the For You error, maybe the forum managers here can help us as well.
Basically on all devices including the Google TV mobile app, we are missing 'for you' recommendations and categories that normally populate such as dramas, horror, comedies, etc. Also if we use the search feature, no results are found, the store front is also empty. Other accounts on the same devices do not have this issue which points to it being account related.
If we disable Web and App activity, the issue goes away until this setting is reenabled. Obviously we would like to keep this setting enabled or miss out on other Google features.
No amount of clearing cache, rebooting, factory resetting, or updating helps. The only thing that does work requires going into your account settings and deleting all 'interests and notifications' which is not ideal considering how many years of data we might have had in there. I use Google TV all the time to remember if I even watched something, if I delete this information and start over it could be overwhelming.
We have submitted feedback multiple times with no resolution but maybe a push from someone that can contact Google will help us here.
I tried uploading screenshots showing the issues we're having but keep getting upload failed error.
Many thanks!
