Google assistant won't activate on new Google tv remote

I was able to set up everything on my new Google TV. When I press Google Assistant button it asks me to press continue. Then it asked me to allow it to search across all my TV apps. Then it asked me to agree to activate voice match on this TV and then it takes me back to the menu. When I press Google voice button again it does all of that over again. And the cycle continues. How do I get Google Assistant to actually work?

Please reboot your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) and remove and/or train Voice Match using the Google Home app. See the steps below:

1. Open Google Home app.
2. At the top right, tap account settings.
3. Tap Assistant Settings.
4. Tap Voice Match.
5. Scroll down and look for the Chromecast device and delete it as eligible device.
6. Once deleted, turn on Personal results.
