I recently bough a first generation Chromecast and for 2 months it was working fine until recently when I pulled it out of my TV to use it on vacation... The hdmi output just snapped off and sadly, I can't use it anymore. Can it be replaced? I'd like to prevent buying a new one if I can.

I'm sorry, the 1st Generation Chromecast device hasn't been made since 2015.
Even if some store actually kept one unsold and in-the-box all this time, I doubt Google would replace it.
I would strongly suggest you get one of the newer model Chromecast devices. The are now designed with a flexible cable that stands up much better than that older design. Also, the newer models have much better processors and wifi radios in them so your streaming experience will be better.
