Google chromecast not reseting

For no reason it won't reset just says error and when I update it does nothing

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. What message do you have on the TV screen? Does it boot to the Google TV home screen? If it doesn’t, I suggest you perform a manual factory reset by pressing and holding down the button on the actual device. You can follow the steps here: How to factory reset your Chromecast. Let us know how it goes.
