Hi I have the new google tv streamer and it setup fine. It’s plugged in via Ethernet cable. I noticed if I leave the streamer say overnight tv off streamer on and come back the next day it says it no longer has an internet connection. The status of the Ethernet is blank. I have to go to the system menu and select restart and then it’s connected fine and works again until I leave it for a while ( have not worked out how long) in ambient mode or tv is off(google tv streamer remains on). Then the same thing happens again. It’s using the same Ethernet cable that google tv4k with offical adapter was using and never had an issue so I feel the network and cable is ok. I just replaced the tv4k with the streamer. Looking for any advice or thoughts. I did the full factory reset and setup again and that went fine and I also turned it off at power point waited for a bit and that worked ok. It’s just after this sitting in standby mode for some time it loses the Ethernet/internet connection and only a restart( soft in this case) gets a network ip address and it works fine. Thank you for the support.

I also use a cable connection and I don't have any problems. My router is TP-Link C6U.
Most likely, the problem is on your side.

Glad yours is working. I have over 100 devices connected to my router and this is the only one that is disconnecting so I suspect it’s more of a hardware issue with the streamer or a software issue.

Hi Dddtttkjke,
Thanks for reaching out to our Community.
I'm sorry to hear that your Google TV Streamer 4K loses connection with the Ethernet when you leave the TV off overnight and then turn it back on. I understand that you have to restart the device to reconnect it to the Ethernet, but after a while, the same thing happens again. No worries, I’m more than happy to help you!
To provide you with better assistance, I would appreciate it if you answered the following questions:
Have you tried to use another Ethernet cable?
Is your streaming device on the 5 GHz network?
Is your router firmware updated?
Thanks for your attention. I will be looking forward to your kind response.
Best regards,
Virna.
