Audio Broken

Audio keeps dropping out randomly for no reason, either happens once every 2 mins or maybe once every 20, device not allowing audio passthrough to my soundbar or AV reciever is a massive mistake.

May have to refund this device, having too many issues for a google product at $150aud

I'm having the same issue, someone from Google has reached out about this. I am currently troubleshooting with him, but I suspect this can only be fixed with a formware update. Let's see.

I had issues with 'no audio'. After a bit of research I found a lot of people were having audio issues. I actually remembered an issue my Shield Pro had that sounded familiar. I tried it and it worked. Go into 'Display and Sound' > 'Advanced Audio Settings' > check box for 'Never Use Surround' > Reboot device > check for audio and issues with it. My audio came back.  I then went back into the advanced audio settings and reenabled the surround setting, rebooted again. Audio was there and no issues with surround sound. Hope this helps !

Same issues here.  Looking on Reddit it appears to be an issue with the streamer trying to decode all audio streams instead of allowing passthrough.  I think if Google allows passthrough that would help a lot of us folks using AVRs.  I've turned off surround as mentioned by ryfkma, but turning surround back on or manually selecting certain formats the issue came back.  So till they fix it, it's no surround for me.
