Hello guys please help me. I just bought a Chromecast, because i need it to connect to internet thru Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra hotspot 5ghz. Problem is, Chromecast cant see its 5ghz. I CANT use 2.4, i bought Chromecast exactly because i knew it supported 5ghz but it doesnt work. From what I read, the problem is that Android 5ghz hotspot uses channel like 149 while chromecast only checks for 5ghz on lower (32/48) channels.
Now my problem is... is there a fix to this? Or i need to return chromecast and maybe get a firestick or something else?
As i said, i cant use 2.4ghz, and android doesnt let you choose the channel anymore in 5ghz mode. So i dont know what to do.
Any help very much appreciated!

Hi riccardopd,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. What Chromecast device do you have connected to your TV? If this is a version with Google TV, I suggest you set it up using the remote only without using the Google Home App on the same phone so you can complete the set-up. But if this is an older version of Chromecast, then you use the hotspot source as the setup device. You may need to use another phone as a setup device while your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the hotspot source. Once setup is complete, you’ll be able to cast directly from your Samsung phone, and you won’t need the borrowed phone (setup device) anymore.
I hope this sheds some light on the situation. Let us know if you still have questions.
Thanks,
Kimy
