Hi, @Louise1973,

Thank you so much for reaching out to the community. I’m truly sorry your Chromecast is not finding the WiFi name after performing a factory reset. I’m here to help and find a solution.

  • Can other devices connect to your WiFi network?
  • Are you at a place of business, hotel, school, or dorm?
  • Are you using a WiFi hotspot?
  • Is this a new installation?
  • What Chromecast model do you have?

Please follow the troubleshooting steps:

  • Check placement: Ensure your Chromecast is within 15-20 feet of your Wi-Fi router and your setup device.
  • Reboot devices: Restart your Wi-Fi router and Chromecast.
  • Toggle WiFi: Turn Wi-Fi off and on on your setup device.
  • Try a different band: If you have a dual-band router, try setting up Chromecast on the 2.4 GHz band.
  • Factory reset (again): Perform a factory reset on your Chromecast.

If these steps don't resolve the inconvenience, please refer to this article for additional troubleshooting: Can't establish a Wi-Fi connection to Chromecast.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana
