I installed Chromecast on tv. I just want all this other stuff . Just be able to cast from iPhone

Just want to cast from iPhone an app on phone. Don’t want the other “stuff”. Can’t seem to get any where. Chromecast hardware is on tv. Already have google home ( I have the hardware on other tv) box doesn’t say what generation just google Chromecast. I don’t want the nest. Want to uninstall it

I have similar concern, it wont connect to my iPhone even if the Local Network is enabled for this app.

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to figure out your Chromecast issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know all the settings can be overwhelming at first. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • What is the model number on the Chromecast device?
  • Does your Chromecast come with the Chromecast Voice Remote?
  • Do you run into any errors when you try casting from the iPhone?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

NC2-6A5. No voice remote 

no errors. I have a successfully working Chromecast in different room. When I try to use this one, it shows name for the other one

Hey there Lindakin22,

 

Are you trying to cast to another TV that the Chromecast is not plugged into? If that is the case, you'll just need to unplug the Chromecast dongle from the 1st TV, and move it to the second. If you want the option to cast to two different TVs, you'll need more than one Chromecast device. 

 

As for the other stuff, like the Nest, are those apps that are on the TV itself, or on the phone? If it's on a smart TV, you may need to look into the TVs manual, or online, to find out how to remove those apps.
