Just Stopped Working…

I’ve had my chromecast for over 2 years with no problems. Last week it just stopped with working with no changes to my associated technology (internet, TV, cables etc). I can turn on the TV and the Home Screen comes up when I select the HDMI input. My remote has no effect (even with new batteries) and the google home app just says it’s offline and can’t connect. I have tried resetting it multiple times and nothing changes. I usually connect it to my phones hotspot for internet access but nothing has changed in this aspect. Please help I don’t know what else to try! Thank you!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

 

  • What model of Chromecast are you using? (If you don't know, please specify the color.)
  • Is your Chromecast currently connected to a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network?
  • Are you using an Android or iPhone device to set up the Chromecast?
  • Are there any other networking devices on your network, such as Wi-Fi extenders, repeaters, or additional access points?
  • How far is the device from the Wi-Fi router?
