My chromecast doesn't optimize screen casting

Hi, until a year and a half ago, when I sent the screen to the Chromecast, the option to optimize appeared and it did it correctly.

A while ago, it stopped optimizing. It gives me the option to optimize, but when I click on it from my laptop, the Chromecast jumps to the home screen, and starts casting again but without optimizing. I don't know what else to try.

I've tried restarting, changing HDMI, everything.

  • What type of Chromecast do you have? Google Chromecast HD
  • What are you trying to cast? Streaming content (from some websites)
  • What device are you trying to cast from (computer, phone, tablet, etc.)? Computer
  • Have you tried using another device to cast? No

Thank you for the information provided! I have some steps for you! You will find half of the steps on the next website:

And the others, are recommendations that I can give you about this inconvenience:

  • Try to restart your Chromecast device.
  • Try to reboot your device from the app.
  • If you notice that the steps and the settings are not working after trying the steps, you could perform a factory reset. If you don’t know how to do it, don’t worry! Here you will find the information required:
  • How to factory reset your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer
