New Google TV TCO q7: Chromecast from phone issue: skipping, restarting, show switching

New to google TV.  But I have used chromecast for years.  Issue happens when I am casting from my phone.  Show is casting fine, but if i open my phone, it either restarts the show from the beginning or plays a preview of a different show.  I really like to cast from my phone cause I don't like typing on the remote.  Any ideas here?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Since this is about casting, the changes or actions come from the source (your phone), as it has control over the content being cast. Controls are mostly from the apps being cast, and there are smartphone models (mostly Android) that have actual controls when it comes to casting, but not all. To isolate, try to cast the affected app using another phone and observe.

 

Ensure that the software and/or firmware of the involved devices (smartphones and their apps, Chromecast devices, etc.) are up-to-date. Also, try to reboot all the involved devices to refresh communication.
