No HDR10 fallback for Dolby Vision profile 7

The Google Streamer does not support Dolby Vision profile 7 playback. Which shouldn't be much of an issue since most video sources support an HDR10 fallback.

The streamer however does not provide that fallback. Causing all DV 7 profile content just plainly failing when trying to play. It need to support DV 7 or provide the fallback.

@branches78 I quoted your original post as well.

Did you receive any feedback yet? This issue is driving me nuts.

Hello @Klopterop as stated in my post by @virnab you must send feedback through the links provided by her, as well as directly from the device when you go to settings -> help and feedback -> send feedback.

Here's to hope they actually fix this on the next firmware updates or on Android 16.

Hi @branches78,

Based on your OP I already performed those steps and doubled down by posting here.

I returned my Google Streamer yesterday and went back to the CCWGTV 4K version. At least that one falls back to HDR10+ so I don't have to be picky with my content every time and ensuring I have the best available quality on screen. Which is why I paid big money for with my OLED TV.

An alternative solution was starting to fiddle with different content players but for my setup it was not feasible because it had more downsides than upsides such as subtitle fiddling and not keeping track where I stayed last time.

Once confirmed that it is fixed, I'll be happy to give them another chance. I just hope it is fixed before another Android Box runs the show.
