So I recently got a Chromecast with google tv, I thought it was about time to replace my first generation chromecast, although it still works fine, mostly anyway.
So I have been using Videostream for many years when casting from my computer. Sometimes my first gen chromecast struggles a bit with buffering issues, but I figure it's just because it's old, kind of like myself:-)
Anyway I bought the chromecast with google tv, completed setup, and tried to cast from videostream, and it did, but only in stereo mode. When I try to connect in pcm or ac3 (options in sound settings in videostream), it starts to connect but gets cut off.
I realize that this could be an issue with videostream, but I have the same issue with Soda player, and they both cast to my chromecast first gen in full surround mode.
I have checked the sound settings in chromecast and tried ato detect and manual, but the both fail.
So if anyone have any wisdom to share, that would be great:-)

Hi Tonny75,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Right now, let’s test if there’s an issue with the audio module by testing installed apps and casting apps (from cast-enabled apps on smartphones) to see if the same behavior persists. If it works, then this could be related to missing updates either on the Chromecast device itself or the application on the computer being used. Please note that casting from computers is mainly done via the Chrome browser. There might be other applications that work but are not completely optimized for Chromecast devices. But if even installed apps in Chromecast with Google TV or casting from cast-enabled apps from smartphones and tablets show the same behavior, I suggest that you do a full clean-up by performing a factory reset and setting it up from scratch to remove any corrupted files or data.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kimy
