Peacock App no longer supported?

(I do not know what generation my Chromecast is, nor what the platform is. It's just a Chromecast stick plugged into my TV.)

The Peacock App has disappeared fromy Google Chromecast device, and when I search to get a new one, I am told that my device cannot play the Peacock App. What's up with that? Why won't Google support the Peacock app any more? I am still able to uuse the Peacock App on another TV with Amazon Fire Stick, so it is surely a problem with Google Chromecast.

I have seen other people complain about this online in recent weeks.

The situation may be resolved.

1. I had the Peacock App on my Google Chromecast, and have used it there.

2. The Peacock App disappeared, and when I went to the App store to get a new copy, I got a message saying that the Peacock App could not play on my device.

3. I posted this on the forum, as well as sent an amailtoGoogle Help.

4. On a whim, I rebooted my Google Chromecast device.

5. I was then able to download, install and use a new copy of the Peacock App.

Was it as simple as needing to reboot the device? Or was something else going on? At any rate, I now have the Peacock App and can use it.

Hi DPTheroff,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We appreciate that you shared this. It’s possible that a new app was released and the old app was deprecated instead of getting an updated version. Let us know if you still have questions or other concerns.

Thanks,
Kimy
