Poor quality video Chromecast 3rd Gen

Hi there,

I've a Chromecast 3rd Gen and when I cast a video from YouTube app, quality video is very poor and I can't select any quality option, appears unavailable.

Currenty Chromecast firmware version 1.56.291998

Currenty YouTube version 18.27.33

Hi JuanGAlejo,

 

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A Chromecast 3rd Generation is a slave device that is dependent on WiFi. If the WiFi is consistent, so is the cast result. Try the following:

 

  • Ensure that the TV/Chromecast device is within 15 feet of the router.
  • Ensure that there’s no obstruction or interference.
  • Reboot the Chromecast device and the router.
  • You can try a factory reset and set it up from scratch.
