Is this still an issue but I did a factory reset as we had no nbn for days and thought hat was the problem
03-12-2025 04:07 AM
Have set it up but mo casting.
03-12-2025 03:31 AM
So, when you already reset the device, I assume that there will be a workaround that makes connecting to the authentication possible again? This is getting ridiculous. What takes so long to roll out a fix? Also with RESET ones since you just mentioned it just yesterday? How will my reset Chromecast be able to authenticate once again?
03-12-2025 03:34 AM
I have already factory reset my device multiple times not knowing what was wrong with it. Is it now doomed?
03-12-2025 04:14 AM
I did the exact same thing, I guess we’ll see.
03-12-2025 03:43 AM
Salut je vous remercie
Envoyé moi tout les informations
Car je déjà été réinstaller merci

Still not working for me.....
03-12-2025 04:13 AM
"Do not factory reset your device" - when my device stopped working the advice that came via your support link was to do a factory reset - which I did!!!
03-12-2025 04:14 AM
I did a factory reset on mine. Please let me know how to fix this.
Thanks,
03-12-2025 04:14 AM
03-12-2025 04:23 AM
"Please do not factory reset your device." too late, reset is part of our basic troubleshooting before checking the web for solutions. Please fix this trust device issue, our grandfather can't watch their favorite boring you tube video.

You can setup the device on a device you set back the time on: that works around being able to install and link it. Now the rest is up to the 'smart' people at Google that have let the world wait for 4 days to use their device.....
03-12-2025 04:25 AM
This is not an update, the devices have been down for 3 days now, this is the worst service and you obviously have no interest in supporting customers.
03-12-2025 04:33 AM
what a shameful company, Chromecast ko
03-12-2025 04:36 AM
Ok so i found a solution, to at least set up the device and use it:
Date back the time and day of your streaming device to a 8th of march.
03-12-2025 04:40 AM
03-12-2025 04:42 AM
Hurry.
03-12-2025 04:44 AM
I already factory reset my Chromecast, and deleted it from my Google Home app. What should I do now?

Se puede configurar NO USAR...

Given the widespread impact, consistent and dependable status updates are crucial. Many of us rely on these devices, and a more frequent update schedule, including a potential ETA for the fix, would significantly reduce anxiety and frustration. Knowing when to expect a solution is just as important as knowing the issue is being worked on.
03-12-2025 04:44 AM
Vergonzoso.
03-12-2025 04:49 AM
Pls come with a solution asap, as I'm already reset the device 😭
03-12-2025 04:57 AM
03-12-2025 05:03 AM
thats crazy. my girl tell me since 3 days its not working anymore.. fix it quick google
03-12-2025 05:04 AM
Google need to learn "if it's not broke, don't fix it". I'm still waiting for a fix on the 'away' functionality for my Google nest thermostat also.
03-12-2025 05:14 AM
They've changed it to"if it ain't broke, BREAK IT!"
03-12-2025 05:11 AM
03-12-2025 05:19 AM

Set the clock to 8 march on Android Phone (doesnt work with Iphone). Connect chromecast again. Then power the chromecast off and on. (remember to update to newest version of Google Home). Worked here....
03-12-2025 05:59 AM
Sadly not for me. Returned an out of date firmware message
03-12-2025 05:30 AM
Hi. It would be so nice, if you send a mail or a notification AS SOON the FIX is ready, and can be applyied to the chromecast. And what do all of us do, after we HAVE MADE THE FACTURY reset, as Google help page says ??
Hope this will work soon, i'am so happy with my chromecast.
BR. MK.

How far are we with the fix?
03-12-2025 05:33 AM
03-12-2025 05:34 AM
Hello
Since last week i am unable to fix Chromecast. And now searching online.

03-12-2025 05:37 AM
Please update more
03-12-2025 05:44 AM
If this Chromecast failure occurred after and update; have you considered rolling back the update?
03-12-2025 05:47 AM - edited 03-12-2025 05:54 AM
It didn't fail because of an update. It failed because an embedded security certificate was (stupidly) set to expire on March 9, 2025.
